Abohar, December 1

As many as 11 inmates have been booked in connection with a clash at Central Jail in Sriganganagar, 40 km from here, the police said on Sunday.

On the basis of a report submitted by Jailer Ravi Kumar, the police have registered an FIR naming Navneet Garg, Manjit Yadav, Joginder Tanwer, Sahil Shanty, Rahul Verma, Bhawani Singh, Rajan Bhambhu, Luxman Jakhar, Rahul Nayak, Anmol and Paramvir Puppy for rioting on Friday evening.

They were reportedly known as “aides” of gangster Ankit Bhadoo of Sherewala village in Abohar and Vinod Saharan, alias Jordan. Ankit was killed in encounter by the Punjab Police some time ago while Jordan was shot in Metallica Gym on Meera Marg in Sriganganagar allegedly by the Bhadoo gang last year.

Officials confirmed the miscreants had been shifted to different barracks.
