The Transport Department officials today impounded 13 more unauthorised private buses for flouting norms in Faridkot, Ludhiana and Patiala districts.

Following the directions of Transport Minister Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, five buses of New Deep and one each of Orbit, Travel Point, RS Yadav, Libra, Nagpal, Dabwali, Guru Nanak and Northern were impounded for tax evasion and incomplete paperwork.

Meanwhile, the minister said the drive would continue as long as bus operators flouted the norms. To streamline the state transport sector, directions had been issued to tighten the noose on private bus operators evading tax, he said.

The minister asked erring operators to pay the dues and complete the documentation at the earliest, adding that the violators would not be spared any more.
