A 14-year-old boy was found dead past midnight in Chak 19 BB village in Sriganganagar. His family was celebrating a marriage event at home.

The police said his family could not find him at the ceremony, so they began a search for him. They said Samarth was found late at night, dead in a toilet.

He was brought to the nearest government hospital in Padampur, where the doctors declared him dead.

On receiving information about the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Lal, DSP Sandeep Chauhan and the police station incharge, Surinder Rana, reached the village. They said a dog squad and forensic science lab team was called to collect evidence.

Police officials said after the postmortem, his body was handed over to his family members.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandeep Chauhan said the suspects would be identified and arrested soon.

He said a case was registered on the basis of a statement of Kulwant of Chak 6 EEA village.
