The rail traffic across North India will be affected with the schedule of over 140 trains going haywire due to traffic block to pave way for development works at the Chiheru railway station between Sahnewal-Amritsar section in Ferozepur division.

The schedule of the trains will be impacted on the selected days from November 16 till the end of this month.

As many as 58 trains have been cancelled, 48 rescheduled, 16 will follow diverted routes, 10 short-terminated and nine short-originated for the remaining period of this month.

Prominent among the affected train routes are Pathankot-Delhi, Amritsar-Jaynagar, Amritsar-Saharsa, Amritsar-New Delhi, Amritsar-Haridwar, Jalandhar city-Delhi, Amritsar-Jalpaiguri, Jammu Tawi-Barmer and New Delhi-Katra.
