Balwinder Kumar of Gidderanwali said his nephew Harman, a class 10 student, accompanied his mother to the bank to withdraw some money from her account, which had deposits of about Rs 10 lakh. He went missing from outside the bank.

His family searched for him and even rang up relatives, but failed to get any clue about his whereabouts. Later, the matter was reported to the Khuian Sarwar police station.

During investigation, police station incharge Ranjit Singh noticed that the boy’s mother account, which earlier had Rs 10 lakh, showed zero balance today, raising the suspicion that the boy had gone somewhere out of fear. The police are investigating whether Harman lost the entire money in some online gaming/deal or had become a victim of online fraud while operating the account online. Bank account transactions will be thoroughly checked tomorrow.
