In less than a month since CM Bhagwant Mann had announced that he would start Mukh Mantri Sahayta Kendras, the centres have been established in all 23 districts.

DCs to track status

  • If a complaint cannot be redressed and requires the intervention of senior administrative officers, it will be sent to the Administrative Secretary as well as CM’s Office within three days of receipt of the plaint by a DC
  • A new software has also been prepared through which the Administrative Secretaries and DCs will track the status of each complaint

CM Mann had asked DCs to set up these centres during a meeting with them on June 17. Within 18 days, these centres have started functioning.

These have seating and drinking water facility and their working will be monitored by the Chief Minister’s field officers. “The public has started coming with their complaints, which are to be redressed immediately,” Fazilka DC Senu Duggal said.

If a complaint cannot be redressed and requires the intervention of senior administrative officers, it will be sent to the Administrative Secretary as well as Chief Minister’s Office within three days of the receipt of the complaint by a DC.

A set-up has also been made in the Chief Minister’s Office here to know the status of these complaints. A call will be made to the complainant, giving details of the status of the complaint. A new software has also been prepared by the Governance Reforms Department, wherein the Administrative Secretaries and DCs will track the status of each complaint. This will also be put up on the CM’s dashboard for his perusal.

Barnala DC Punamdeep Kaur told The Tribune that she had started the centre and people coming here for complaint redressal.

Mann had also given instructions that all DCs would dedicate each Thursday only for public hearing and resolution of grievances. Things are also underway to establish a new token system in DC offices across the state, which will help the public to meet the officers in a systematic manner.
