Abohar, November 17

Nearly 2,500 people on Sunday braved fog to participate in the second chapter of “Nashon se door, khelon ki aur” marathon that was organised by Surinder Jakhar, IFFCO Trust, and Panjkosi Sports Society. The day coincided with ‘Balidan Diwas’ of Lala Lajpat Rai. The organisers also offered flower tributes on the bronze statue of the freedom fighter.

The marathon was flagged off by Jalalabad legislator Raminder Awla, SDM Poonam Singh, convener Sandeep Jakhar and District Congress president Ranjan Kamra at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk. Many participants had also come from Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, besides different districts of the state.

Enthused by the overwhelming participation, MLA Awla said he would also try to organise such marathon in Jalalabad. SDM Poonam Singh said such activities would help in channelising youth energy in the positive direction.
