The Khuian Sarwar police today nabbed Vinod Kumar and Gulab Devi Beniwal of Panjkosi village for stealing ashes from cremation ground of the village.

Complainant Pradeep Kumar stated that his mother Kamala Devi passed away on October 24 and her last rites were performed the following day.

The family planned to collect her ashes on October 27. However, on October 26, Pradeep was informed by Sharda Devi that his mother’s ashes were found outside her house.

The police officials said Rakesh Kumar of Sant Nagar in Abohar was on the run and would be nabbed soon.
