The CIA staff led by Inspector Harneek Singh on Tuesday arrested two gangsters and seized three country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges and a motorcycle from them.
The gangsters — identified as Mukesh Kumar, alias Khanna, of Kapurthala’s Virk village and Parminder Singh, alias Dulla, of Narur village — were nabbed at a checkpoint near Nasirabad village.
Superintendent of the Police (Detective) Manpreet Dhillon and Phagwara SP Manwinder Singh told this to the media here on Tuesday.
The police have booked the gangsters under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. The SP said during the preliminary investigation, the gangsters disclosed that Phagwara resident Michel gave them the weapons to kill Bohani village resident Harpreet, with whom he had an old enmity. — OC
