Two Nihangs were injured after a horse went berserk and ran into the crowd that had gathered to witness a traditional martial arts event here on Wednesday.

The event was held by various Nihang organisations, during which members of the groups displayed their horse-riding, gatka and other martial arts skills. The event is held on the occasion of Bandi Chhor Diwas.

Among those injured was Paramjit Singh Pamma of Bidhi Chand Samparda, which is based at Tarn Taran’s Sur Singh village.

He was seriously injured as the horse ran into him and stamped on his chest.

Another Nihang received injury close to his eye.
