Cabinet Minister Dr Baljit Kaur today administered oath to newly elected panches of Fazilka district at Bhagat Singh Sports Stadium.

The minister said the government would give Rs 20 lakh extra grant to each panchayat having more than 50 per cent SC population.

She said 40 such villages had been identified in the district. The minister asked the people to end casteism in the villages. She added the state government had decided to release additional grant of Rs 5 lakh to each village wherein the panchayat would construct common graveyard.
