The police have seized 20,000 sedative tablets from Updesh Kumar (21) and his brother Beg Raj (19), who originally hailed from Rajasthan, but settled in Bathinda’s Sangat Mandi. The police said the seizure was made by intercepting a bike during a special drive to enforce lockdown on the Sriganganagar-Bikaner highway. The duo had allegedly been smuggling sedatives from Bikaner to Bathinda. They were held under the NDPS Act.

Almost 10-gm heroin was seized from Tirlok Singh of Chak 16KND village by intercepting a bike at Shiv Chowk in Rawla (Sriganganagar) and 13-gm from Mukesh Jat (22) and Pawan Jat (25) of Sahuwala village on Monday.
