Sleuths of the 99th battalion of the BSF have nabbed a drug smuggler and seized 3.716 kg heroin from him.

Based on specific inputs, the BSF troops apprehended Arshdeep Singh of Darveshe ke village near the Pachharian border outpost and seized a packet containing 562 gm heroin. A preliminary investigation revealed that Arshdeep, along with Jaswant Singh and Gagan Singh of Darveshe ke village, was involved in cross-border smuggling of drugs.

The matter was reported to the police and the accused were booked at the Sadar police station under the NDPS Act. Another 3.154 kg heroin was seized as per information provided by Arshdeep. Sadar police station SHO Inspector Gurvinder Kumar said the police had launched a manhunt to arrest accused Jaswant and Gagan.
