The Barnala police have arrested three youths for allegedly writing Khalistan slogans on the house of Mehal Kalan MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori late on the night of August 14 at Pandori village in Barnala district.

A case was registered against unknown persons under Sections 196 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Punjab Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 1997 on August 15 at the Mehal Kalan (Barnala) police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Barnala, Mohammad Sarfaraz Alam, said today that in this case, Gurmeet Singh, Gursewak Singh and Kirpa Singh, all residents of Mehal Khurd village, and aged between 25 and 30, had been arrested.

He said during the questioning of the accused, it came to fore that one Surinder Singh Thikriwal was behind the incident.
