The Rawatsar police near Hanumangarh today arrested three suspects riding an SUV and a motorcycle on a link road and seized 171 kg of poppy husk from the SUV.

The police station in charge Ved Pal Sheoran said a police team saw two people in a suspicious SUV, and another person was seen on a motorcycle. He said a bag was taken out of the SUV and handed over to the bike rider. SHO Sheoran said the team has arrested the three suspects. He said 171 kg of poppy husk was seized in nine plastic bags from the SUV.

The suspects were identified as Suresh Kumar alias Sunny (36), Vinod (35), residents of Kikkarwali, and Kamlesh Jat (30) of Thadaka. The SHO said the suspects could not present a license or permit to keep or transport poppy husk. He said the suspects were being interrogated and a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against them.
