The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), seized 26 kg heroin from a cross-border peddler. Separately, the Amritsar (City) police seized 9 kg narcotics and arrested six persons, including a private schoolteacher.

All modules busted are linked to foreign-based gangster Harpreet Singh, alias Happy Jatt. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said Happy Jatt, a proclaimed offender facing 21 criminal cases, was running the drug racket from abroad in coordination with Pakistan-based smugglers. The police arrested Sajan Singh, alias Billa, while delivering 25.9 kg heroin, along with a Glock pistol. Sajan, a hairdresser, had received multiple drone-dropped consignments in the last two months and worked with Happy Jatt through social media.

Two more module members have also been identified and search is on for them. The Amritsar Commissionerate Police dismantled two more narcotic cartels, arresting Honey (18), Parmdeep Singh (18), Harwinder Singh (19), Gurpreet Singh (25), Jasbir Kaur (40) and Kulwinder Kaur (54).

Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the breakthrough began with Honey’s arrest and seizure of heroin. In all, 8.062 kg heroin was seized. Jasbir Kaur and Kulwinder Kaur were arrested with 1.004 kg heroin; Jasbir reportedly maintained direct contact with Pakistani smugglers.
