Four persons were killed and 17 injured in a road accident near Nagrana village on the Hanumangarh highway this morning when a Rajasthan Roadways bus hit a gravel-laden truck parked on the roadside.

According to the police, the accident took place as the bus driver tried to overtake another vehicle.

The bus was going to Chandigarh from Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh. The deceased were identified as Rajveer (52) of Madhya Pradesh; Prithvi Raj (52) of Hanumangarh, bus conductor Ravinder Singh (50), a resident of Sriganganagar; and Vinod Tanwar (65) a resident of Sriganganagar.

The injured included Gentleman Singh, Amar Dass, Dharampal Matoria, Aarti Bawri, Gulshan Bawri, Surjit Singh Kamboj, Rajinder Odh, his wife Sanju Rani and son Rehan, Ravi Odh, bus driver Kuldeep Odh, Nishant Soni, Rekha Tomar, Kulwinder Kaur and Gurpreet Singh.

Sangria SHO Amar Singh said the the bodies were handed over to family members after autopsy.
