Abohar, August 23

An incident of rape involving a four-year-old girl came to light on Friday in Sriganganagar.

According to hospital and police sources, at around 11 pm on Thursday night, a woman brought her bleeding daughter to the Civil Hospital. Seeing her condition, the doctors had to immediately take her to the labour room of the hospital.

Police officials said the woman said she lived with her two daughters in a colony in Suratgarh. She said that when she returned home from work last night, she found her elder daughter lying on the bed, blood-soaked. The woman said her daughter told her that her maternal uncle had done all this. The woman contacted the suspect; however, the latter denied his role and termed the allegations as false.

The police said the suspect was being questioned and the the girl’s condition was stable.
