Abohar, July 21

The Punjab and Rajasthan police, in a joint operation, today destroyed around 50,000 litres of lahan (raw liquor) along the banks of the Gang Canal near the inters-tate border.

Khuian Sarwar Police Station SHO Inspector Raman Kumar led the joint operation that was launched on a tip-off.

Around 50,000 litres of lahan was destroyed in the presence of a team of the Excise Department, said Inspector Raman.

Stern action would be taken against those involved in the illicit liquor trade, said the Khuian Sarwar SHO.

On July 11, Hindumalkot (Rajasthan) and the Khuian Sarwar police had destroyed 1.26 lakh litres of lahan along the banks of the Gang Canal.
