Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel have been deployed at 52 booths identified as ‘sensitive’ to ensure free and fair election in the Chabbewal Assembly constituency.

Besides, extra police force has been deployed in the area within 200 metres from these ‘sensitive’ booths to prevent any illegal movement or provocative incident. The entire polling process will be webcast.

The district administration will also focus on 25 locations identified by as ‘vulnerable’. Nearly 1,500 police personnel, including paramilitary forces, will ensure there is no untoward incident on the day of polling.

As many as 205 polling teams, along with EVMs, other polling material and security personnel, were despatched to their respective polling stations in the constituency. Each polling party comprised of four officials, including a presiding officer, an assistant presiding officer and two polling officers.

The voting will start at 7 am and conclude at 6 pm.

The constituency has 205 polling stations with 1,59,432 voters, including 83,704 male, 75,724 female and four transgender. Besides, there are 600 service voters in the segment.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal said there would be local holiday in the government offices, boards, corporations, educational institutions in the district. The workers working in registered factories, shops and other establishment and having votes in the Chabbewal Assembly segment could get a paid holiday to cast their votes.
