The Goraya police on Sunday busted an inter-district gang of robbers by arresting its six members.

SP (Detective) Sarabjit Bahia said here on Monday that the police had seized two pistols (7.65mm), three magazines, 12 live cartridges, a .32-bore revolver with two cartridges, a .315-bore country-made pistol, six mobile phones, a Pulsar motorcycle, a Maestro scooter and two sharp-edged weapons from those arrested.

Those arrested have been identified as Vishal Bassi, Jatinder Singh, Manveer Singh, Surinder Singh and Parjan Kumar, all residents of Panchhat village in Phagwara sub-division, and Anup Bangar, a resident of Chachrari village near Goraya.

Phillaur DSP Jagdish Raj said a case under Section 115 of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act was registered against them.
