7 held for attack on Patiala trader
Patiala, July 19
The Patiala police have arrested seven individuals involved in a supari (contract) attack on a local shopkeeper. The accused had taken Rs 1 lakh from a Dubai-based man to brutally assault a businessman in the Bhadson area.
The suspects have been identified as Keshav Singh, Sushil Kumar, Babu Ram, Ashok Kumar, Sukhpreet Singh, Vikas Kumar and Ashok Kumar, all residents of various parts of the city.
The police recovered a .32 pistol, five rounds, five daggers (dattars) and three motorcycles from the suspects’ possession during the operation. The shopkeeper, Gurvinder Singh, was assaulted on July 13 at his shop in Dattupur village.
