The Amritsar police have seized seven sophisticated pistols smuggled from Pakistan and arrested four people in this connection.

“The arrested accused are in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers and received illegal weapon consignments near the Indo-Pak border, Operating from border villages, the network supplies arms to gangsters in Punjab,” said DGP Gaurav Yadav on X.

The seized weapons include Italy-made PX5 pistols, Austria-made Glock 9mm pistols and .30-bore pistols, he added.

A case has been registered under the Arms act at Chheharta police station.
