AAP legislator Raman Arora sent to 14-day judicial custody in graft case
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Raman Arora was on Monday sent to 14-day judicial custody in a corruption case.
The Jalandhar Central MLA will remain lodged in the Nabha High Security Jail till June 16. Arora had been arrested by the Vigilance Bureau on May 23.
He has been accused of conniving with officials of the Municipal Corporation by sending across fake notices of violations of norms and blackmailing people.
Since then he was in the custody of the bureau. He was produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Sushil Bodh this afternoon.
Three more persons have been arrested in the case. They are Assistant Town Planner Sukhdev Vashisht, Building Inspector Harpreet Kaur and the MLA’s aide Mahesh Makhija. Arora’s son Rajan Arora and his relative Raju Madaan too have been booked by the bureau.
