In a video statement, Bittu claimed that the entire flood relief compensation being distributed by the Bhagwant Mann government had been provided by the Centre.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a relief of Rs 1,600 crore for Punjab during his visit to the state.
Bittu said more than Rs 800 crore had already been sent to the Punjab Government and disbursed to the victims.
“The Punjab CM while distributing the cheques doesn’t tell the people who has sent him this money,” he said.
The BJP leaders accused AAP of taking credit for central funds while running a deliberate campaign to portray the Narendra Modi government as anti-Punjab. Jakhar highlighted AAP’s “double standards”, stating that when Punjab was reeling under floods in August, Mann was in Tamil Nadu studying their breakfast scheme.
