In the by-elections for three wards of Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged victorious in two wards, while Congress claimed one.

AAP candidate Rajeshwar Dayal Babbi won from Ward 6, defeating Congress’s Sunil Dutt Parashar by 183 votes. Babbi secured 768 votes, while Parashar received 585 votes and BJP’s Rajat Thakur garnered 270 votes. This seat was vacated by Brahm Shankar Jimpa after his election as MLA, with his brother retaining the seat within the family.

In Ward 7, AAP’s Narinder Kaur defeated Congress’s Paramjeet Kaur by 84 votes. Kaur received 589 votes, while Paramjeet Kaur earned 505 votes, and BJP’s Sonika Nehra received 207 votes.

However, Congress claimed victory in Ward 27, where candidate Davinder Kaur Mann secured 1,038 votes, defeating AAP’s Sharanjit Kaur Hundal, who received 590 votes and BJP’s Daisy, who garnered just 42 votes.
