Lambi (Muktsar), January 10

Navjot Kaur Lambi, who became the Aam Aadmi Party’s star campaigner for delivering fiery speeches during the 2017 Assembly elections, has now decided to support the Sanyukt Samaj Morcha (SSM).

Navjot (22), a resident of Kheowali village in former CM Parkash Singh Badal’s home turf Lambi, while talking to The Tribune said, “The AAP acts as per the decisions of Delhi office-bearers. The AAP has given tickets to 32 candidates, who recently switched from other political parties. Thus, I have decided to support the Sanyukt Samaj Morcha.”

A student of MSc geography, she further said, “I left the AAP in 2018 when national convener Arvind Kejriwal apologised to Bikram Singh Majithia over his statement on drugs trade. Thereafter, I supported Sukhpal Singh Khaira. After the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, I left active politics for a while. Later, I participated in ‘Kisan Andolan’. In between, a number of politicians tried to convince me to support their party, but I rejected their offers.”
