A farmer in Haripura village in Abohar allegedly killed his wife last night by hitting her with an iron rod following a domestic dispute. The Khuian Sarwar police brought the deceased's body to the Civil Hospital here for a post-mortem examination. Forensic experts and other investigators visited the house to collect the evidence.

Pawan Godara, accused of murder, had been mentally disturbed for some time. He and his wife reportedly had a heated argument last night. In a fit of rage, Godara attacked his wife Sunita (50) on the head with a potash-containing iron pipe kept in the house, resulting in her death.

Khuian Sarwar police station incharge Ranjeet Singh and his team arrived at the scene and started investigating. Based on the statement of the couple's son, the police registered a case.
