The ADC-cum-Commissioner MC, Abhijeet Kaplish, today launched an internship programme for youth of the Fazilka district. The objective is to use the expertise and knowledge of the youth in improving the functioning of the municipal corporation. The MC Commissioner hopes that the move will bring about more transparency.

Kaplish said in the two-month internship programme, the interns aged between 21 and 25 years could observe, and give their feedback and suggestions to enhance the functioning of the corporation. They would be at liberty to observe, read, go through documents, travel to sites of work and take notes. Applications had been invited from the aspirants before July 15 at aboharcorp@gmail.com. The candidates were required to attach their CVs, along with a 300-word essay, explaining why they wished to work with the corporation.

“We will keep the working hours of the interns flexible,” Kaplish said.
