Determined to protect their villages from Covid-19 pandemic, members of gram panchayats and social activists have erected barricades in about a dozen villages near here. The activists have also made an arrangement to ensure that volunteers are patrolling along the barricades 24×7, with instructions to allow entry to outsiders only under pressing circumstances.

The villages where barriers have been put include Dalmirkhera, Dangarkhera, Pattibilla, Achadiki, Patrewala, Sayeedwala, Bhangarkhera, Chuhariwala Dhanna, Bodiwala Pitha, Hiranwali and Kabulshah Khubban.

Teams from Khuikhera-based community health centre had also started patrolling in these villages, senior medical officer Dr Saurabh Phutela said.
