Addict commits suicide at Moga village

A 22-year-old youth, who was addicted to drugs, of Manuke village in Nihalsinghwala subdivision of Moga district allegedly committed suicide on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, the police said.
The deceased, identified as Balram Puri, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from his room’s grill with a piece of cloth.
In the past one week, four deaths of drug addicts were reported from Moga district. A couple of days back, bodies of two drug addicts were recovered from Daulewala village in Dharamkot subdivision. The deceased were identified as Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Kahan Singh Wala village, and Bhola singh, a resident of nearby Jalalabad village.
On Monday, body of a 25-year-old drug addict, identified as Satnam Singh, a resident of Manuke village, was recovered from the banks of a drain on the outskirts of Sandhwan village in Faridkot district.
On February 20, body of a youth (25) was found hanging from a tree at Manuke village under mysterious circumstances. The deceased had been identified as Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Manuke village.
The Moga police today recovered another body of a 46-year-old man, an alcoholic, from a drain at Nathuwala Garbi village in Moga district. The deceased has been identified as Subash Kumar. He was living in a ‘dharamsala’. Locals were oblivious of his whereabouts and details of family members. The police kept the body in a mortuary. — TNS
