Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Sandeep Rinwa said four teams had been formed by the district administration for this purpose under the command of the respective tehsildar and naib-tehsildar. Representatives of the Agriculture Department have also been included in it.

The teams, also called flying squads, conducted surprise checks on fertiliser shops in the district today. The CAO warned that if any shopkeeper forced the farmers to buy any other thing along with DAP fertiliser, strict legal action would be taken against him. If someone charges more than the notified price, the department should be immediately informed to enable action against such people.

He said the state government would arrange fertiliser in phases and ensure that no farmer is deprived of it.
