Officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj has strongly condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam. Expressing grief, he extended condolences to the families of those killed in the incident. He prayed to the Akal Purakh to grant eternal peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families to accept His will.

Gargaj said the tragic incident had reminded him of the March 2000 massacre at Chittisinghpura in Kashmir in which 35 Sikhs were killed and the truth was yet to come to light.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami said the act was inhuman and brutal. He said spiritual and humanitarian teachings did not promote such violence.
