The CM said that the state government had already taken path-breaking initiatives and a large number of posts — including those of campus manager, sanitary worker, chowkidar and others — will be filled in the coming days. He also recounted many of the initiatives taken in government education system, saying that for the first time in Punjab, a mega parent-teacher meeting was organised in government schools across the state in which 20 lakh parents took part.

Mann said that being the son of a teacher, he knew the problems of teachers very well, adding that he was duty-bound to resolve these. Mann said that due to the prominent role played by teachers, they are known as the ‘architects of the nation’. He expressed the hope that they would continue to guide students with missionary zeal to make Punjab a frontrunner state in the country.
