Amrita Warring, 45, is a new entrant in the dynastic politics of the state. However, she has already carved a niche for herself with oratory skills much like her husband and PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

Her entry has heated up the Gidderbaha bypoll as the Congress would now put in all its efforts and some national Congress leaders, including those from the Gandhi family, may also campaign for her.

Amrita was earlier expected to contest the Lok Sabha election from Bathinda, but the party fielded former MLA Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu.

Earlier, Amrita was active only in the Gidderbaha Assembly segment. Now, she holds public meetings in her husband’s Ludhiana Lok Sabha constituency.
