Ten days after rebel Congress Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa demanded removal of state Home Secretary besides DGP (Vigilance) and Advocate General for arrest fiasco of ex-DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, the Punjab government on Monday removed Home Secretary Anurag Aggarwal from the post.

Aggarwal is a 1987-batch IAS officer.

A 1993-batch officer Anurag Verma has been appointed as new Home Secretary.
