Appoint acting state unit chief, Grewal urges BJP high command
Senior BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today questioned the silence of the party high command on the issue of the resignation submitted by Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar. He said neither was the party high command accepting the resignation of Jakhar nor appointing anyone as president of Punjab BJP. In such a scenario, the BJP will find it difficult to win the elections to the civic bodies, he observed.
He said despite several statements made by Jakhar, the interests of the people of Punjab remained neglected.
He suggested that the party listen to the grievances and suggestions of Jakhar to make the unit stronger in Punjab. Grewal urged the high command to appoint an acting president of state BJP from among the old veteran leaders.
