Armed men shoot dead notorious criminal Kartik Baggan in Ludhiana 

A notorious criminal, Kartik Baggan, who was facing several criminal cases, was shot dead by armed men near Sundar Nagar Chowk here on Saturday night.

The incident took place around 11 pm.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (North) Davinder Chaudhary said Baggan, a resident of Ghati Mohalla, along with his friend Sarvan, was heading home when they were cornered by armed men who fired at them.

Kartik took two bullets in the chest and shoulder and Sarvan one in the back. They were taken to the CMC hospital where doctors declared Kartik dead and the condition of Sarvan is said to be critical.

DSP Chaudhary said his rivals seemed to have attacked Kartik and his friend and the police were looking for them. 

In June 2023 also, Kartik was shot at by his rivals on Benjamin Road and was admitted to the CMC hospital. As he was wanted in criminal cases, before he could be arrested he had fled from the hospital after dodging the police.

Kartik is said to be a member of the notorious Puneet Bains gang.
