Bibi Rajinder Kaur, a resident of Muhawa village in Attari, who took active part in the farmers’ protest at Delhi borders, died last night.

She was 86. Her health got deteriorated at the Singhu border on August 2 and was rushed to a hospital in Sonepat, where she breathed her last. After postmortem, her body was shifted to her native village and cremated this evening. She had actively participated in the farm agitation since July 28.

Dr Satnam Singh Ajnala, Kabal Singh Muhawa, Pargat Singh Jamarai, Rattan Singh Randhawa demanded the government to compensate one of her family members with a government job and financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
