Moga, February 16

A farmer from Moga district, who suffered uneasiness due to cold weather conditions, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital, officials of the district administration said today. The deceased has been identified as Jagdev Singh, alias Jagga (52), a resident of Kotla Meher Singh Wala in Baghapurana subdivision of Moga.

He had joined the dharna a few weeks back. A couple of days ago, he suffered uneasiness due to high blood pressure. Villagers brought him back and got him admitted to a hospital in Bathinda where he died late last night. Jagdev was not a member of any farm or labour organisation. He was an independent farmer and gone to the protest site along with other residents of his village.
