Chandigarh: The ADGP Yadav-led SIT probing Kotkapura police firing has summoned SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal on June 16. Badal was the CM when the police opened fire on protesters in October 2015. The SIT is to ascertain as to who gave the orders to open fire, whether the cops fired in self-defence and if standard operating procedure was followed. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
