Badal’s birth anniversary a low-key affair
The birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was a low-key affair today in contrast to previous years. The late leader’s son, former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is currently undergoing religious penance, performed ‘sewa’ at the historic Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib.
In the past, the SAD celebrated the day as ‘Sadbhavna Divas’ with blood donation camps across all 117 Assembly segments. Parkash Singh Badal, five-time Chief Minister, was born in 1927 and passed away on April 25, 2023.
Meanwhile, a school managed by the Badal family observed the occasion as Founder’s Day. — TNS

run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any
bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and
partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense
of the term.
