The delegation asked for construction of two more platforms in addition to the two proposed in the new design of the station. It also urged that entry to the railway station from the dera side should have direct approach from the circulating area and through the station building. Besides other demands, the delegation also wanted that the freight handling should be shifted to the adjacent station and the Beas station be made purely a coaching terminal.

The minister asked Railways officials present at the meeting to visit the Beas railway station to have a first-hand idea of the changes suggested by the delegation and incorporate these in the new design. — TNS
