Chandigarh, July 30
A Chandigarh court has issued notices to Punjab on an application moved by former Moga SSP Charanjit Sharma to adjourn hearing in the Behbal Kalan firing case till the completion of further investigation.
Sharma moved the application on the ground that the investigating agency had failed to furnish final investigation reports in compliance with the High Court directions issued in writ petitions.
He said in this case, the prosecution agency was insisting on hearing arguments on the charges on the basis of the chargesheets filed earlier in spite of the fact that the further investigation in the case was still pending.
The HC, on May 31, had ordered to transfer the trial of the case to Chandigarh from a Faridkot court on a plea filed by Sharma. — TNS
