Bhagwant Mann travels by road, leaves behind Punjab govt chopper for flood rescue in Gurdaspur

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann after visiting the worst flood affected areas of Gurdaspur and Pathankot promised all help for flood ravaged districts and even left behind his official helicopter in Gurdaspur for rescue operations.

He met with local residents, offering support and urging them to remain strong in the face of adversity.

“After speaking with locals, it became clear that many villagers—along with children—are stranded in their homes without ration or other essentials, unable to move due to the floodwaters,” said Mann.

“These are the same people who entrusted me with 92 seats and the helicopter. Today, I am leaving Punjab government’s helicopter here for them,” the CM said, adding that he has instructed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that all necessary essentials, including food and supplies, are delivered promptly.

Meanwhile, in a post on X, he said, “Natural disasters are beyond anyone’s control, but our government will not let anyone suffer alone.”

“Every life is precious. The Punjab government’s helicopter is on standby around the clock to assist people in need,” said Mann.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he added, “We will compensate every loss as promised. The situation will stabilise soon.”
