The Congress got a major fillip in Sangrur as many key Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office-bearers and workers joined the party during an event organised by former Cabinet minister Vijayinder Singla.

“The Congress family has received a major boost today. I assure every single member that they will receive due respect and responsibility within the Congress party. We will take the ‘vote chori (theft)’ issue to every household, and expose the reality of BJP before the public,” said Singla.

Among those who joined the Congress were Hari Singh former chairman, Block Samiti Phaguwala; Satnam Singh Harditpura, district secretary; Aman Jheneri, district president, sports wing among others.
