It was crucial for the industrial revival of the region and creation of jobs for the local youth, he maintained.
Sharma said, “The NFL has been instrumental in realising the dream of Green Revolution. By modernising and expanding the company, we can once again put Nangal prominently on India’s industrial map.”
He stressed that an increase in the fertiliser producing capacity of the Nangal plant would support the Centre’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” missions by reducing dependence on imports and making the country more self-reliant in fertiliser production.
Nadda assured him that the issue would be taken up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the company management, Sharma claimed.
Apart from the Punjab BJP leadership, senior leaders from Himachal Pradesh were also pressing for the NFL expansion.
