BJP workers held a protest against the land pooling policy at Ropar bypass on Friday. District president of the party Ajayvir Singh Lalpura led the protest in which a large numbers of affected farmers from Ropar villages, including Shampura, Railon Kalan, Gurdaspura, and Samrala participated.

Addressing the gathering, Lalpura said the AAP government in Punjab was completely controlled by Arvind Kejriwal. “Bhagwant Mann may hold the CM’s chair, but the real power is with Kejriwal, Sisodia, and other defeated Delhi leaders,” he said.

“The pain the people of Ropar district are facing today is the result of a wrong decision made in 2022. We elected the wrong people as MLAs and are now paying the price. The land pooling policy is a disastrous move for villages,” he said.

Lalpura said AAP MLAs should make their stand clear over the land pooling policy. They should resign in case they were opposed to it, else they would have to face people’s wrath in next Assembly poll.
