Kapurthala SSP Vatsala Gupta said two youths, Baba of Jwala Singh Nagar and Kashik of Mohalla Saidan, had been arrested in the case. The victim was also a resident of Saidan mohalla. Other three youths, Gagan, Kartik and Naveen, were also being traced and would be arrested soon, the SSP said.

Sultanpur Lodhi Deputy Superintendent of Police Sukhpal Singh said the victim and the accused had been in a tiff ever since a Ramlila event that occurred last month. “In their 20s, they were together in the same Ramlila committee earlier. They had clashed twice and FIRs were also lodged earlier. The same controversy got dragged and took a serious turn last evening,” said the SSP.

Honey Kumar and his two friends were on their bikes when they were attacked. They were taken to the local Civil Hospital where Honey Kumar was declared “brought dead”.
