Sangrur, December 15

To press for the acceptance of demands of the family of Gurmale Kaur, who died on December 8 at the Kalajhar toll plaza during a protest against the Central farm laws, BKU (Ugrahan) members have started an indefinite protest in front of Bhawanigarh SDM office.

“Our protest will continue till the acceptance of our demands, including Rs 10 lakh financial aid, complete debt waiver and a government job to a family member of the deceased. Her body has been lying at the Rajindra hospital, Patiala, and the cremation will take place only after our demands are met,” said Harjinder Gharachon, a BKU (Ugrahan) leader.
